so i all ways wanted an aluminum boomerang after seeing the kid in mad max. we cast it in class on wendsday and i was the kiln diver in the crew. that means i dress up in a space suit and pull hot molds out of a 1400 degree kiln with gloved hands and place them on a kwool mat before they are set in place and filled with molten bronze or aluminum. its hot. i still have my skull to pour in bronze and my stem in aluminum bronze and that will be on wendsday after memorial day. i cut off the gating and sprues today and finished the prep on the skull. the boomerang still needs alot of cleanup and polish and yes i am gunna throw this thing as hard as i can at least once.
